About this piece

This is the third movement of Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331. Mozart marked it “Alla turca” (in the Turkish style), imitating the Ottoman military bands that were fashionable in Europe at the time.

The fast notes can sound hard at first, but the opening comes in small groups of five: “B A G♯ A C”.
